Reduce wrinkles with Botox | Zebra Dental Windermere
Wrinkle-relaxants
Most people will know this as Botox® treatment.

Botox® is a brand name of the substance used to relax wrinkles botilinum toxin.

Several other licensed brands of botulinum toxin are also available but Botox is the most commonly known.

Wrinkle relaxants are normally used in the upper third of the face to smooth lines around the eyes (crows’ feet), between the eyebrows (frown lines) and on the forehead.
They work by temporarily relaxing the muscles which, from a lifetime of facial expression, have caused wrinkles in your skin.

The treatment will involve a series of tiny injections into your skin with very fine needles. You will be able to resume normal activities straight away.

The injection sites might appear slightly reddened for a few hours but this quickly passes and can be covered up with concealer if you wish.

It takes anything from a few days to a fortnight for the treatment to work and the effects tend to last approximately 3 months.

The most common side effect can be a small bruise after treatment which might last a few days.

Adequate Information for Patients – Benefits and Risk of X-ray exposure

Your dentist needs to take an x-ray of your mouth to help with your care. There are many benefits associated with the use of x-rays, such as your dentist being able to see what their eyes cannot (such as inside your body to find hidden dental structures, malignant or benign masses, bone loss, and cavities). This is much safer than using invasive techniques such as surgery.

Dental x-rays are exceedingly safe, but like everything in life, there is a degree of risk involved – you will receive a negligible dose of radiation which carries a tiny (less than one in a 200,000) chance of side effects. Furthermore, your dentist will never take an x-ray unless the benefit to you exceeds the minimal risk. To put this into context, this dose of radiation is so small that it will be equivalent to what you receive in a few days from natural background radiation that is present in the surrounding environment.
